Save videos from Facebook. From the post you’re looking at.
Videos, reels and photos, from your feed, pages and groups to your Downloads folder.
Grablet is a browser extension. Open the post on Facebook, play the video, click Save. The file goes to your Downloads folder. Nothing is uploaded anywhere, and nothing is stamped on it.
Free and unlimited. No account, no tracking, no watermarks.
Your browser will ask for access to websites. That is how Grablet sees media on the page you are on. Nothing is ever sent to us. Why it needs that
On Android, install Grablet in Firefox for Android. Also available on desktop Chrome, Edge and Firefox. Grablet is not available in Chrome for Android or Firefox on iOS.
How to save a video from Facebook
- Install Grablet from the Chrome Web Store, Microsoft Edge Add-ons or Firefox Add-ons. There is no sign-up.
- Open the post on Facebook as you normally would, in your feed, on a page or in a group, and play the video for a moment.
- Click Save, on the post itself or in the Grablet popup, where everything on the page is listed by type and quality, best first.
The file lands in your Downloads folder, filed under the site’s name.
What it saves
- Videos in your feed, on pages and in groups you belong to, at the quality Facebook served your browser.
- Reels. Facebook plays them in fragments; Grablet assembles those into one MP4 inside your browser, free until 9 March 2027, then three a day free or unlimited with Pro.
- Photos at full size, including every photo in an album post.
- Posts you can see because you are signed in. Grablet only sees what your own browser has already loaded, in your own session.
What it won’t save
- Videos in a post you have not opened or scrolled to. Facebook does not load them until you do.
- Anything in a private group or profile you cannot see. It never reaches your browser.
- Live video while it is live.
And, as everywhere: not YouTube, and nothing DRM-protected. Store policy in the first case, the law in the second. No setting unlocks either.
Questions
Why do other tools give me a silent Facebook video?
Facebook serves most HD video as two separate tracks, picture and sound, in a format called DASH. A tool that grabs the first track hands you a silent clip. Where Facebook also offers a plain MP4, Grablet saves that free. Where it does not, Grablet joins the two tracks into one file with sound, inside your browser: free until 9 March 2027, then three a day free or unlimited with Pro.
Is there a watermark?
No. Grablet saves the file Facebook served your browser and does not touch it.
Do I need to paste a link into a website?
No. Those sites fetch the video through their own servers, which is how they end up watermarking or resizing it. Grablet works from your browser, on the post itself, and no third party is involved.
Can it download a whole page or profile?
No. Grablet saves from the post you have opened. It never crawls a profile, a page or a timeline, and that is a rule, not a missing feature.
Does it work when I’m signed in?
Yes. It works on whatever you can see, because that is all it can see.
Private by construction
What you save never passes through us. Grablet finds the media, assembles a stream and saves the file inside your browser, needs no account, and never uploads anything. Its one server issues Pro licence keys and never learns what you save. The privacy policy is short because there is little to say.
Please only save content you have the right to keep, and respect the people who made it.
